Julia Roberts Movies-Best to Worst -With Inflated Box Office Grosses/Results Through Mirror, Mirror.
84Julia Roberts in her Oscar winning performance in 2000's Erin Brockovich.
Hub Update: Wow was I slacking, not only did I not update this hub when Mirror, Mirror opened; but I was completely unaware of her other release in 2011....Fireflies in the Garden which was made in 2008 but released in October of 2011. But the slacking is over and both movies are now in the hub. Mirror, Mirror is currently ranked as her 25th best movie while Fireflies in the Garden sits in last place at the number 38 spot. 05/14/2012.
When I first started writing movie hubs for hub pages back in January 2011. The first hubs I produced were on my favorite two current actors, Bruce Willis and Tom Hanks, and on my wife's favorite actress, Julia Roberts. When 2011's Larry Crowne starring Julia and Tom Hanks opened up at theaters across the country, I went to update both of their hubs, I realized that the quality of those early hubs was lacking to say the least. A major face lift was needed on both hubs. So hopefully after six months of hard learned lessons and 100 hubs later, I can write a much better Julia Roberts hub than the one I wrote back in January. So here you go....three weeks later than I originally intended, is my new Julia Roberts movie hub.
Julia Roberts was born in Smyrna, Georgia on October 28th 1967. She is a three time Oscar nominated actress(Steel Magnolias, Pretty Woman and Erin Brockovich). Roberts won the Oscar for her performance in Erin Brockovich. She is also a seven time Golden Globe nominated actress. She has won the Golden Globe three times(Steel Magnolias, Pretty Woman and Erin Brockovich). Her movies have opened number one at the box office 12 times and 11 of her movies have crossed the 100 million dollar mark.
Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts in her ninth biggest box office hit Notting Hill....182.10 million in 2012 U.S. inflated dollars

Hi. Here are my five favourite julia Roberts films, keeping in mind that she hasn't made enough films for me to make a top 10 list where they would actually be *favuorites* rather than films I've seen ,period, as recent films and I have a spotty relationship. I'd rather watch TCM.
Here they are in alphabetical order:
Notting Hill
Pelican Brief
Pretty Woman
Steel Magnolias-the first time I ever saw Julia Roberts ever
Sleeping with the Enemy
That being said, I have yet to see the following films, but I plan to:
Eat Pray Love
Erin Brochavich
Maybe its me, but I never really saw the appeal of Julia Roberts. She's an Okay actress and she's fairly pretty but I don't think she's any great shakes. I'm trying to think of an outstanding film she was in but none come to mind.
I must be missing something. I don't get it.
Rob
I wait with baited breath :)
Come on Robwrite, if Tom Hanks is the king of hollywood, julia roberts is the queen of hollywood, maybe her peak is over but talk about a great run. Her romantic comedies made her our aubrey hepburn of our generations, and julia then goes out and does one awesome dramatic role in erin brockovich. If you do not behave Cogerson I am going to tell your wife, LMAO.
I'm in complete agreement with Rob here. The only film of hers I enjoyed was Pretty Woman and that was 20 years ago. I'll probably find it unwatchable now.
Oh and I liked Flatliners for some obscure reason.
That Joker's smile of hers scares me. ;)
Voted down and... kidding Voted Up and Interesting. :)
I think the power of Julia depends on your sex, most men think she is sexy and her movies are ok, while women associate with her and put her on a pedastol. I like her in some of her movies, but I think the last three or four I have seen she has been in some bad movies. But I am a guy, and my girlfriend thinks Eat Pray Love is the best movie in twenty years.
I think your 10th thing says it all, the greastest actress of all time.
Dear Julia,
I've seen a good majority of your flicks. You cry, I cry...You laugh, I laugh. I'm in awe with your acting ability, you cease to amaze me. I'm disappointed that Stepmom didn't make the Top Ten, I still get emotional every time I watch it. With Pretty Woman you made most women want to become a hooker! Kinda. Notting Hill....awwww!!! Whether it's comedy or drama you rock it girl! On a more personal note....I'm glad you aren't a Runaway Bride anymore and you have a good man. (I hope I didn't just jinx your marriage). Looking forward to more of your outstanding entertainment.
-Cogerson if you could forward this to Ms. Roberts I'd appreciate it! Thanks for a tribute to Julia! :)
I love Julia Roberts, I have a serious crush on her for years, ever since Mystic Pizza, the big hair look of the 90s, the drama of Erin Brockovich, she is great, I like that she named her production company after her husband A classy hub on a classy actress, voted way up.
Great Hub, i love Julia Roberts she is a amazing actress. voted up
Your updated HUB is good...I like Julia Roberts - she has played some very good roles, Notting Hill, Pelican Brief, Erin Brockavich and Pretty Woman are my favorite ones, just saw Pelican Brief on TV about two weeks ago and enjoyed it again. Thanks for the update.
As always Cogerson, a great hub. "Erin Brockovich" is my personal favorite. Voted Up, Awesome, and Interesting.
Very nice informative information on one of my favorite actresses.
Hi Mr Movies, Erin Brocovich is one of my all time favourite movies. The chemistry between Julia Roberts and Albert Finney is hollywood gold dust. The movie demonstrates how ordinary Davids' can sometimes outsmart ruthless goliaths'. Notting Hill is also a great movie where Hugh Grant is the perfect foil for Julia's character. The humour is painted on by an artists hand. Pretty Woman is another great movie where the whole mix works perfectly together. Richard Gere is great too. I can't remember Steel Magnolias but it was probably a great movie. I've seen most of her other movies and she rarely disappoints. Cheers my man, another cinematic marvel. Julia will finally forgive you for that first inept hub. :)
Hey, thanks for the update. Erin Brocovich was good - I have it on a VCR tape but have not seen it in a very long time. Saw The Sentinel with Michael Douglas over the weekend. Mike Douglas would be a great HUB. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. MUST TAKE A LOT OF TIME DOING ALL THAT RESEARCH...
Very nice information. I like Julia Roberts . she has played some very good roles.
Pssst....I haven't heard back from Julia yet. Anything from your side? :)
Good idea to paste the original hub comments.
Very well researched and written hub. I enjoyed most of Julia Roberts' movies. She is a very talented actress who knows how to act out very simple scene that catches audience attention.
Cogerson - Wow! How detailed are you. I can't help but to love your charts that you create for movie stars. Julia Roberts is one of my all-time favorite actresses, she is very unique from most of the other actresses of today. Voted up and awesome!
Fabulous tribute to a great woman. I have to say Mystic pizza and Erin Brockovich are my favourites.
Hi Cogerson, my all time favourite is Notting Hill, closely followed by Sleeping with the Enemy which I've seen about 5 times now.
A well written tribute to a wonderful actress.
Wow! This is list is comprehensive. I didn't even know she was in so many movies. i thought I watched everything she made. You really know your stuff. Up and awesome.I can't believe Notting Hill was hire than Sleeping with The Enemy. I think Sleeping was better played but Hugh Grant is cuter than Patrick Bergin.
I would watch Notting Hill more just cause I prefer happy movies to dramas. But, Bergin is way creepy in that movie. It sticks with you.
Your wife and I would get along great. :)
I do love me a bit of Julia Roberts- especially in films such as Pretty Woman, Erin Brockovich and Oceans's Eleven. This is a great hub full of information. Thanks for sharing!
Mirror, Mirror was outstanding! Julia rocked the witch role!! I never heard of Fireflies In The Garden and I'm not slacking on movies:)
Thank you for the Julia Roberts information. It is great to see all the statistics of her movies compounded in one place. And you have a lot of information I never knew about Julia. My favorite movie of hers are Mystic Pizza, Erin Brockovich, and Mirror, Mirror. I wish her well in her ongoing career! Nice hub!
