So what the heck are Movie Scores?
There are all kinds of ways to determine if you want to see or skip a movie. You can depend on your favorite critic. My favorites are Roger Ebert and Leonard Maltin. You might go to Rotten Tomatoes to get the consensus of all the critics. You might watch the viewer ratings at Yahoo Movies and IMDB. You might depend on which movies are doing the best at the box office. You might wait for the end of the year awards. Movie Score takes all of these options and creates a mathematical equation that generates a score from 1 to 100. The higher the score the better the movie. .

Loved Training Day and Armerican Gangster, hopefully will see Unstoppable in next couple of weeks, also looking forward to the next movie Safe House.
Yeah just took a look on IMDB, never mind will be plenty other movies to keep us entertained!
Denzel is the man. Nice article. Gotta go with Man on Fire and Unstoppable as my favorites
I just saw Unstoppable, his best movie in years. Thanks for the hub.
I do agree with the majority of the rankings here, but I must say that I'm a big fan of some of the mid-level movies. "Fallen" and "Man on Fire" are two of my favorites of Denzel's.
I just watched the Hurricane and enjoyed it immensely. Denzel Washington is such a wonderful and talented actor.
I'v seen all of his movies just like Bullock's I'm a big fan here too. Another great hub!
I need to see more Denzel. Most of those movies I haven't seen. I really didn't like Trainig Day, thought it was overated,Man on Fire was awesome, Fallen needed a sequel.
Matthew Broadwick really impressed me in Glory. Didn't think Feuriss Bueller could pull it off. Nothing he's done before or since has been as powerful, not nearly.
Other actors for hub material? Lee Marvin, Fred Mcmurruy, Burt Lancastor, Kirk Douglas, Glenn Ford, Ernist Borgnine.
Other actresses, Barbara Standwick, Shirley Maclane, Shirley Temple, Jayne Mansfield, Lee Remick, Karen Black.
I absolutely loved Denzel in John Q among many other movies. In John Q he wasn't backing down from the medical care his son needed and he got what he wanted. I was so proud of him! Denzel and cogerson BOTH get a VOTE UP!!!
John Q is amazing, but my favorite is the underrated Mo Better Blues. Washington playing off of Wesley Snipes is a fascinating; similar to Washington vs Hackman in Crimson Tide.
I liked him in Safe House, but it was pretty similar to some of his other roles. Ryan Reynolds (going against his normal tendencies) was more impressive to me. However, Reynolds character kind of reminded me of Ethan Hawke in Training Day.
Funny though, I was just thinking the other day that I haven't seen you do much recently on Hubpages. Then I sign on and you come up first on my news feed thing lol.
Cogerson....a Re-run here? Glad it came back out from hiding. You published this before I joined HP.
Denzel? The man can't do a damned thing wrong. It would take far too long to try to choose a favorite. Every movie he has done, he has made fabulous. There are actors and then there's DENZEL. The best part is, he's also a hell of a great person, husband & father. Just watched "Out of Time" 2 nights ago....probably for the tenth time. I love Eva Mendez too.
Great hub, Cogerson....looks like everything you do is perfect too!
Denzel Washington is one of my favorite actors. That man can act his way out of a paper bag. He is also a class act and a great humanitarian. Great job Cogerson!
Dave and I saw Safe House today. It was kind of slow at times. Denzel and his swagger were present throughout the movie. Ryan Reynolds was awesome! I give the movie 3 out of 5. It's always a pleasure to see Denzel and Ryan on the big screen.
I thought Unstoppable was a great movie, as well as John Q! Nontheless, I agree Denzel is a fine actor! Good article and information!
I really like Denzel in The Devil In A Blue Dress, Malcom X, Remember the Titans, and Glory. Great and amazing actor! Interesting hub and voted up!
It's good to see you back though. I have the busiest schedule this semester, yet I am trying to write a review/Hub every day. Last week I did a review a day. Felt good lol
How did I miss this one? Great actor but like Nic Cage he has appeared in a lot of disposable films in the last few years.
Training Day number one on the moviescore? Good film, great role, won him an Oscar. Man on Fire was good too.
I've seen 22 of the 39 films you've listed. I never saw Philadelphia or Remember the Titans. I did see Ricochet and Virtuosity, I have them on dvd too. :)
I've seen 8 from the box office top 10 and 8 from the critics 10.
Of recent films Unstoppable was okay and The Book of Eli was enjoyable. I thought The Taking of Pelham 123 was unnecessary the original was much better.
Voted Up, Useful and Interesting.
I see I haven't commented on this hub yet. Tsk, tsk, Flora!
Top ten box office:
Philadelphia...that is it.
Top ten critics:
Surprised Philadelphia isn't on the list considering Tom Hanks got an Oscar and there were other nominations.
Those I have seen:
I have seen Much Ado About Nothing and Hurricane.
Overall:
I have seen only four films thus far. The other film was Devil in a Blue Dress.
I refuse to watch the remake of The Manchurian Candidate.
But, on my to-see list in alphabetical order:
Crimson Tide
Malcom X - will be difficult to watch, but I feel I need to see this movie
Training Day.
Any other suggestions based upon my favourite genres?
My favourite is Devil in a Blue Dress. And Shakespeare is always fun. The others I admire greatly, but they are difficult to watch.
his the number 1
